The Ford order/build/deliver timeline.

Howdy,

I ordered my Platinum on July 15th, got my VIN a couple of weeks later, with a build estimate for the week of September 21st. On the 18th of September I got a build date of September 25th. Then I got a dealer eta of the week of October 21st. My Ex arrived at my dealer today. I'll pick it up one day next week.

I think your dealers time frame is a safe one. I don't think there is an system to fords shipping methods. Mine was built on sept 16 and it still continues to sit at the plant built with a TBD shipping date while another one built on same day for my dealership has already arrived.

My dealer is telling me my order on a 2016 platinum is going to be between 12-24 weeks. Is one of the Ford contacts on this site able to help.

They tell me my order number is R001 (it seems too short)

I really hoped they were exaggerating. 5 months is too long for us. We waited for our last Range Rover but this one is longer.

My wait was (is) about 3 months. I haven't picked it up yet, but I ordered on July 15 and it arrived at my dealer last Friday. So, I'll pick it up one day early next week. On thing I've learned from this forum, dealers have an allotment each month. I just happened to order on the sweet spot-the middle of the month. My dealer didn't mention this when I first discussed ordering, but he did tell me when I needed to come by and place the order. After I ordered it, he told me my order would go into August's order allotment.

So, I am happy with the time frame.

Tricia got back to me to confirm the status of my XLT order and her timing was perfect. I picked up my 2016 today. 8-10 week timeline from order to today.

We ordered with the light interior but the order for switched to the black automatically. The dealer just reversed that yesterday.

Yes, you PM FordService. As per 'Out of Office' thread, she was away from the 9th to the 13th so I'm guessing she may have a bit of a backlog.

My dealer told me that he placed my order on Sep-8th, still is no VIN yet. I sent PM to FordService Tricia and she said that she could help me to trace down the car by order number and dealer code...
