The odometer stopped working on my 1996 Ranger.

I am trying to get my 1996 Ford Ranger inspected and a mechanic replaced a sensor related to the emissions system. Now my odometer stopped working. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

If the speedometer is working but the odometer is not, the problem is usually in the small gears between the motor and the odometer subassembly. Speedometer shops sell a replacement worm gear for 95~03 odometers.

Another option is a complete junkyard cluster but many 95+ mechanical Ranger odometers will eventually have the same problem at higher miles.
