The OFFICIAL H2/H3 hatred/loving whining/praising thread...

those can't be 24's. i've seen a lot of H2's with rims and they look good. those def dont fill out the wheel well. and i know the H2's ive seen probably dont have much bigger than 24's if at all and they fill it in nicely. those look much more like 20's.

there is no doubt those are 24's. they just have a really small tire on 'em. 20's on an H2 with a tire that short would look 10 times more offensive then the rig does now. im looking at an old Sport Truck mag with one on 26's..... doesnt look much different.

Kinda make you wonder how that thing does on the highway, with the stock gears set up for 35s, i bet that thing is at 3500 RPM at 55.

I thought hummers came with 37's, or was that just the first ones? or am I totally wrong?

For what it is, it is not that bad. At least it isn't trying to be a tuff off roader.

ditto:rolleyes:

without all the chrome accents, I think it would look downright menacing.

The chrome package is terrible, about 25% of them ship that way. Worst thing is, up close the chrome is crappy plastic, obviously cheap. The plain grained black looks MUCH better.

cool......

Now that's quality!! :D

The H1 isn't that great really. It has big tires and thats really it, well a crap load of clearence from those tires. You put some 37s on a freaking lexus rx330 you will get a similar effect. Well maybe not but i think you understand what I mean. The H1 and H2 are not the best made, they both break a lot. The H1 more then the H2. The H2 just isn't made to handle the abuse of trails. Most of the people that do go wheeling with break things. While they rovers they wheel with don't. The H2 would be great, if they beefed up the components a bit more.

The H1 has a unique system of the actual axle having greater ground clearance. the axle is higher than the center of the wheels! any other truck with 37's will not have as much ground clearance from their axle as an H1. this is what makes the H1 so special. the H2 on the other hand just has an IFS.

Sorry my mistake, but from what I have heard they do not have much flex at all.

the H1 has IFS and IRS, it doesn't have a great amount of flex, but with that ground clearance, you don't need to much.

Also, when you are locked front and rear you do not need a ton of flex.

Someone should tell all our military leaders that these 'H1' s they are using in military operations all over the world arent so great and they could just be buying any old suv and put 37s on it.

And I cant understand the last half of you post...are you trying to say something about a Landrover?

I agree the H2 is crippity crap as far as living up to its big brother, but its big brother is one of , if not the, most capable and undestructable off-roading vehicles ever massed produced.

Unless you want to use it on a trail somewhere. Its as wide as a schoolbus. Its great for blasting through the desert, but few offroaders get to do that...

I have driven many HUMVEE's for work. It's not a bad rig. The idea behind it was a good start. Make a platform that will handle many situations and many variations. It can be heavily armored to carry troops or even carry a mobile Air Traffic Control Tower that raises up and we actually control traffic out of it at an unknown airport. The thing is heavy duty and I've wheeled one all over Bosinia. If it'll fit, it'll go. That should be their slogan. It is wide and sucks in that aspect. I like the H2s for what they are. If you lifed a new SUberban it'll break too. I think the idea of 24" wheels on a new H2 is rediculous. Each to his own though. I don't care if someone else does it. It's not my money. I'll be laughing when I plow over speed bumps and curbs when he's got to slow down as to not mash $3k in rims!

H2's Offroad...

Okay some of you have seen the pics of the H2 that I came across abandoned offroad a while back... Well he's back up and running and still wheeling it...

I know most people here hate them but these are some pretty good pics I think that even GM's marketing department wouldn't expect... Things even GM didn't think the H2 could do...

Excellent pics!!!

H2's can do stuff, but it has been criticized it as a "glorified" SUV for the rich instead of the original thing. Heck...GM invited journalists before H2's launch to show them the capabilities of the H2 and it did very well. So I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. Basically, what I'm saying is that I won't get it, if I happen to win one, I'll sell it right away. The reason behind it is because I have no use for it.
