Hey guys...

I've been having some problems!
A few weeks ago I was on my way to school when the power steering completely went out, followed by the alternator light coming on. Thankfully, this happened while I was still in my neighborhood.

I was able to reverse all the way home and in the driveway, then take my Mustang to school instead, which I really didn't want to do. Anyway...

It turns out the thermostat housing sprung a leak, shot coolant onto my belt, which subsequently slipped off the tensioner pulley, shredding the pulley and ruining the belt.

Well, I've been soooo busy between work and school, that this past weekend was the first time I had a chance to look into it. I spent the prior weeks searching for my answers on the forums here, and thought I was able to gather all my needed info.

I started turning wrenches, and found nothing wrong! So i replaced the belt and pulley, and assembled everything back together....still leaking. from the front of the thermostat housing.

Took it all apart again, opened up the housing to inspect in more thoroughly...
Decided to replace the thermostat while I was there ($20) and the O-ring on the inside ($1.30 or so). As I looked, it seems as though the previous person to have the X pryed with a screwdriver etc on the upper piece of the housing, which seems to make it have a non-perfect seal. These marks appear on the rear-passenger side of the housing.

I filed it down, put in new parts, also used Permatex on the 2 housing pieces and the outside, put it all back together....still was leaking.

I decided to let it sit overnight, and run it again. This afternoon, I took it around the block 10 times (checking it every couple, getting it to a max of 30mph) to see a VERY SLIGHT leak from the front side of the housing.

I decided to apply another coat of Permatex to the outer sides, and will see what happens tomorrow.

I guess I will have to replace the top piece ($30) eventually, but I want a quick fix....we got our first snow tonight and I couldn't even enjoy it!

HOWEVER..while driving it, it felt as though the power steering pump was weak?...any turns I made under 15mph or so, the wheel would shake. I checked the fluid....it's brown, not red.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS? PLEASE?
NEW PUMP? SHOULD THE NEW UPPER HOUSING HOLD ONCE I GET IT?
ANY OTHER CLUES FOR THE LEAK?
I'm getting very frustrated as the CV boot is still torn as well, but I don't have enough money to have a shop fix it all, but need it fixed ASAP!

Please anyone? And Im sorry for the lonnnngggg posst, but I just wanted to be clear! I need answers, and soon! Christmas is around the corner and the funds are low b/c of the X's problems. They've been nonstop!

Thanks in advance guys!
