Wray-Wray,
I got my scanner at Harbor Freight. While it has been okay for most uses I would not buy it again. It works great on all my vehicles except my 1999 Explorer. It has a software problem for that year. They have terrible technical support. You get what you pay for. I like to work on my vehicles and I like new toys so I can justify buying a new tool. If you are just doing this one time, you may be better off having it looked at by a mechanic. The best option would be to find a friend who has one. Anyway if you decide to get one, get one that has the "Live Data" function. Try a Google search on auto diagnostic scanner forum and ask some questions. Wish I could give you a better answer.
