I was looking at programmers and I really like the edge evolution CTS, thing is they don`t list one for the X with the 4.6, in my thinking, I would think that the one for the f150 that has the 4. 6 should work right? I guess edge is close after the first of the year so I can`t talk to a tech person, so I should be able to use a programmer thats for the ford 4.6 that has the OBD-2 port right or they won`t work because of the calibration differences:scratch:

If the specific calibration isn't listed for your application if probably won't work. There are so many boxcodes for just the 4.6L it isn't even funny. Although there are many tuners for the F150 only a small amount will work with an Explorer. That is why the SCT tuners are sooooo popular. -j

Get one from James at Henson Performance, this guy ^^ Although my programmer and custom tunes are from BamaChips through Explorer Express, its only cause I got them before I found this site. Ask anyone on here and you'll get the same answer. :)

james so you have any programmers that go on the dash so I can use it as a tranny temperature gauge?

That wouldn't be a real temperature reading anyways, just what the computer computes the temp to be based on various inputs. To get a real temp reading you have to have a real gauge that actually takes the temp of the fluid. Same thing with oil pressure and temp. Its just computed, nothing can replace real gauges. :D A scangauge will do that for ya though.

yeah I have had the the scangauge before but I want a programmer that has the PIDS I did have the edge on my f150 before that had the PIDS in it, there is a a internal sensor on the trannys for the temperature, because my 2003 f150 and my explorer here in michigan during winter they won`t shift into overdrive until the trannies hit around 80-90 degrees if I remember right, I`m just going to call edge monday and find out if the evolution cts will work I have a place near me that they will let me plug in the CS programmer and see if it will work, they said if it works then the CTS will work, so I will see I do have laptop software called bowser electronics that I have had for about 3 years it tells me what all of the sensors and modules on the ford cars are doing so I will see what happens:)
