but are all Eddie Bauer vehicles 4x4? There is a light on the instrument panel that says 4x4, but I see no switch or anything...no hubs to lock...and to top it off, I really don't think there are axles going to the front wheels...why, then, would it have the light there? Pardon my idiocity, but I have no clue!

I am pretty sure the same dash is used in the 2WD and 4WD. Has your 4x4 light came on or can you just see that is says 4x4? Slide inder the truck and see if you have a front diff.

There should be two good sized buttons on the dash. One will say something light "4x4" and the other "4wd Low."

Do you have hubs sticking out in the front? I think the same overlay is used for all years.. Also you should have a 4x4 switch and Low Range switch above the radio.
