For those of you that have TT, SL and BL's. I need to know what you guys measure height wise from the ground to the top of the center on the wheel wells on front and back.

My torsion Bars and leafsprings are pretty well worn out and ready for the scrapper. Looking at some of your trucks recently I've noticed they sit higher than mine does now. Mine used to sit higher but years of extreme heavy hauling, towing and offroading has really done a number on my TB and LS.

I'll deal with the TB for no since I plan on doing a SAS, SOA. The leafsprings are shot, their flattened out and revers arching some so they'll need replaced as well, I just need to know how much lift I've lost.

I needed an excuse to go downstairs and take a break.

I have 265/75/16 tires.
Front Left 39"
Front Right 40"

Back Left 40"
Back Right 40.75"

I tried to correct that inch in the front last weekend when I was doing the BL but the tortion bar bolt wouldnt budge and I ended up rounding the hex on it a bit. I'm going to try PB Blaster on it and see if that helps, it has plenty more to srew in.

Yep, i figured as much. I lost a whole 1.5 inches of lift front and rear, damn.

I can't wait to get rid of this IFS and do my SAS, SOA !!!!!!!!.

I would like to get rid of the IFS also but I have have the money or the skills yet. The day will come when I will start collecting parts. I will be doing mine with full size axles, most likely from a late seventies F150.

I'm pretty much basing mine off of Chad's build, as much as I would like to do a linked setup I like the safety and strength of leafsprings for onroad manners.

Maybe by the time I do mine the ST won't be my daily driver then I can do something rediculous like the Explorer in this video. It's very impressive in person.

That's nice but too much for me, it's not street legal, I like to drive to trails, offroad and then drive home, not have to have a tow pig and trailer. Just me though.

Thats the problem down here. Its all mud and you really need your vehicle high off the ground because there are some deep holes you can drive into without knowing it. When I finally buy a house and have a place to store it, I will have a dedicated mud truck.

hah well i would help out here.. but i dont have shackles, and im 2wd, and honestly im not exactly sure how many inches of TT i have, haha i just guestimate about 2.25 or 2.5". is there a way to measure the height that my leaf springs are giving me?

Tmac, doesn't matter if your 2wd. To measure the rear lift, just measure the same way as the front. From the ground up to the center of the wheel well (fender/ bedside) opening. I figured out I lost 1.5-1.75" of suspension lift/ height from my old worn out torsion bars and leafsprings.

oh well i was just saying im 2wd about my TT because i can go up to 3" and a 4wd cant, but i guess you could take that into acount if i knew how much TT i actually have lol. and i measured the rear, and i got:
Back Left - 39"
Back Right - 39.5"
then again im not sure how accurate because of my unlevel ground in my yard.

better post pics of everything you do Jerry! I would like to see how that is done

I paln on documenting everything step by step like Chad551 did, check out his build thread in the SAS registry.
