My suspension is really starting to squeek going over speedbumps and slow offroad. Its to the point now where it is just annoying so do yall think the shocks may be the problem? I have about 76000 miles on my 98 2wd xlt and i put on the shocks pretty much a month or two after i bought the car so most all the miles are on my current shocks. They are edelbrock IAS by the way. What would one of the polt bushing kits do for the suspension. would that quiet it down some and stiffen it up? Are there any new shocks or old ones for that matter out now that seem to be holding their own pretty good.

I had the same problem. I had a local shop replace the radius arm bushings with poly bushings. Now it is fully squeek free and i have really old crappy shocks so i doubt it is your shocks. I really regret it though becuase it would have been about $20 for the bushings and about 2 hours worth of work. Instead my dad paid $250 bucks and thats money that couldve been put to better use.

usually worn shocks bounce a lot, especially if you stand on the bumper and jump off. It is probably a bushing (or a few) like OC suggested.

your shocks arent bad till you crush the tube on one and bend another.... then they are bad and you get nasty clagning noises when you hit bumps... talk about annoying. :fart:

Yall have a good point on the shocks maybe they arent bad. ill try the "bumper test" sometime and see what happens. what bushings would you recomend me swap out or have swapped out for the poly ones. Not limiting to just the front. I have noticed my front drivers shock looks like it may be leaking oil so i may change that one or the front two. It sometimes sounds like one of my wheels is bouncing a little too much and has a different sound that i remember but maybe that is the front drivers one i think has the leak. Do you know of any test i could do to the individual shocks short of taking them off. Major

Bounce the truck from each corner.
