'02 sport trac
So I just worked the hell out of my 02 sport trac hauling a heavy duty '7x'14 trailer over 3000 km,half way thru the trip I tried to change out the transmission oil and foundno drain plug so dropping the pan was the only option and being so far from home I didnt have the time or resources to do it so we drove home, now the fluid looks and smells a little worse for wear so I got a filter kit and will do the "flush it out the cooler hose trick" then change out the filter, but while I was in getting the filter I asked about dropping the oil in the diff, and it came down to 2 choices one took regular 80-90 weight the other was 75-140 I think depending if it had "track lock" now I have no idea wat track lock is or if I have it or not is there any way to tell?

If the is a "D" in front of in a number in your axle code, you have a limited slip diff. Check the sticker on the door or jamb.

Thanks man! I checked the door stiker and I see a D behind the number but not in front of it says "axle 42 TR D"

Then it is an open (standard) axle-not limited slip.

right on thanks again!
