Timing chain tensioner

I changed the right rear timing chain tensioner on my wifes 2005 explorer with the 4.0 sohc engine,it was a fairly simple job but i have an oil drip and i have tourqed to almost 50 ft lbs,,,any ideas ? Thanks

I changed mine a while back and didn't have any issues. I would remove it, clean the threads and mating surfaces really well and re-install.

If the surfaces on the engine weren't cleaned completely, that could be the cause of the leak.

compression ring?

You may need to install a compression ring to get a good seal. The part number is XU2Z6M252AA. Use some grease to keep it in place (or it will drop down off center) when tightening.
