Me again, and just real happy with how Im getting this 91 Ex Eddie Bauer up and running again. To think when I couldnt sell it on craigs list for 400 bucks I was gonna junk it!
Since I couldnt get an exhaust system from a local parts store today, I decided to go with the Dynomax from Summit, should be here by Monday.
Radial Arm bushings are next, maybe while im doing the exhaust. So today I decided to clean car.
My truck is white. The paint had black spots from trees and fallout, ground in grease on the hood, and just was impregnated with discoloration from dirt.
You can compond this stuff out, and rub it into the paint while your doing it, or you can get this amazing stuff called Krud Kutter from home depot.
I sprayed my whole car except rims (but it got on them anyway) and the stuff just emulsified every bit of grime off, in all the crevices, roof rails, and removed all the road tar and grime on my rockers.
I washed the car with Palmolive dish washing liquid,to get that off, and man, car looked great. ALL the grime was off, just need a good waxing now.
So just to go all out, and see how good it would come out, I white compounded the car with a buffer, wiped that off and waxed it with some wax I had around, Armor all car wax. The paint looks new, and shines great.
I waxed all the glass with shop towels cause their rough, no windex is gonna clean em and shine em like that!
I bought my son aftermarket rims and tires when my daughter was done using it years ago, but he was always busy with school and 3 jobs so he never took care of em.
The fronts were a problem I kinda ruined them getting the burnt in brake dust off with scotch brite, but managed to buff em up a little with some emery and tripoli rouge. At least the center caps shine great cause I could do those on my bench buffer. I had to drill the centers out of the 2 fronts to be able to lock and unlock the new hubs.
Buts thats it the tip is Krud Kutter, cant see why it wouldnt work on any color.
