hey whats up, my brother and i want 31s, but we cant decide between the goodyear mtr's and the bfg all-terrains. we arent gonna go hard core off roading, but probably lots of mud runnin and some off roadin, no too bad tho. which tires are better and why, i know the prices and all and what the seller says, but they dont use them. so if i could get some input from wheelers like you all, it should help a lot. thanks

The BFG ATs tend to get a bit gummed up in mud, but are a great all-around tire. How about Pro-Comp XTerrains?

I am running BFG Mud Kings and love them. They are not as noisy as the BFG MT's and much cheaper. They have a simular pattern to the MT's but the center lug has a "v" shaped pattern instead of a "s shaped pattern. They are studdable but only have a two ply sidewall compared to the MT's three ply. Most tires are only two ply. I payed $127 including studs ($10 ea tire) here in Alaska. The MT's were pricing at $145.

MTR's defnatelly better... A/T's are good for general stuff, it's like an all around tire. MTR's are good for that plus mud... and clean-up pretty nice.

I have MTRs on my Ranger (30K), and BFG KMs (3K) on my Explorer. The MTRs are a great tire very tuff and puncture resistant. BFGs are a little cheaper. Both are high mileage mud tires. If I had to choose and money did not matter I would select the MTRs.

x-terrains

I would definately get the X-Terrains since pro comp has their buy three get one free deal again.
Or go with the Pro Comp mud terrains also buy 3 get 1 free.
