i was wondering what is the biggest tires i can put on my stock suspension explorer? i heard 32" will fit but they will rub. i also want to kno what kind of tire i could get in that size that would look good and perform ok of road and i dont want to spend a whole lot of money on doing it. thanks

G'day, check the sticky in the 1st gen section. That should give you all the info you need about sizes. Do a search for that size to see what othe people are running on their rigs.

on my bone stock '93 explorer, i run 31x10.5 BFG all terrains on the stock rims. they rub VERY slightly, if i'm turning and hit a good bump at the same time.. i do mean very, very slight. i would not go bigger than that with stock fender sizes though. i'd also stay away from aftermarket offset rims or wheel spacers.

so the short answer is: 31" tires will fit stock. bigger will rub.

which tire you buy is your preference.. ive used the BFG all terrains but they are expensive. they are a pretty good all-around on and off road tire. mud tires usually suck for the street because they wear faster, are louder, and decrease gas mileage even more.
