How do i get the air box out. I want to do some mods to it to increase airflow. I've looked at it and i can't find any screws or bolt or anything. any help would be appreciated.

Anyone know where i can find some fine metal screen meshing?

Airbox removal...

Hi,

I remeber having the same problem removing the airbox from my 97 EB when I installed the K&N Filtercharger. Out of the time installing it, removing the airbox took me the longest. Basically, the airbox is held in place by two or three plastic grommets that connect to the plate the airbox sits on. You have to use a screwdriver, put it in the grommets and play around to get them loose.
Hope this helps.

Thatll work, there are two grommets on the bottom and one on the inner fenderwell wall, i pulled on the box, got the one on the fender out, then pulled up and got the two on the bottom out, they hold it in pretty good, i thought i was gonna break the box before it came out, but i didn't

fine screen mesh

Thanks guys, For all the help. I’ll be working on it this weekend.

What I also need it some fine wire meshes. I want to block off the holes that I will be making with the wire mesh to keep large rocks or sticks out of the air box.

My brother – in –law and I are going to be starting up a Club here locally (Jacksonville, FL) just to be able to get some people with common interests together and have some fun. There really isn’t any extreme terrain here in Florida. Other than the sand and mud, and that can be more than enough fun. In the next week or so we will be getting the site up and running (4playfun.com). The name of the club id 4-play off road. It’s open to all trucks and SUV’s that are willing and able to take their vehicle off road. Should be fun. If anyone is interested in joining or just giving some advice please feel free to email me.

Ahh nice nice, my family lives in OP i lived there too untill i found this job, i visit there a few times of the year! I lived on Flemming Island, so i was tuck going to high school at Clay High, i hated it there!

As far as the wire mesh goes, check out home depot or lowes or some place like that they should have it !

Hey Yomie

Let me Know if you ever come down to visit. My wife and i live out in Argyle, not to far from Flemming Island. I grew up here in Jax and went to Englewood on the southside. Anyway I'll be doing the doms this weekend.

Thanks, Chris (Joker)

JoKKer,
Join the Florida Explorer Club. You could start the north east division. Check out Dead Link Removed we have regular runs and we are very spread out. most guys are in central/gulf area im in the big bend about 2 hours from you. we are going to eventually have a run at a park up here, it is about an hour and a half from you right off of I-10.
check out our site. i hope to see you on a run.

good to see another floridian!

Hey BUCHVILLEMAN

i was thinking about joining but i don't want to leave my brother- in - law out in the cold. He has a Jeep (very stock, for now) and I'm trying to get a club started here. There is nothing saying that i can't belong to 2 clubs though.

I need to get some new tires and my lift done before i go do anything more off road. i would love to join you guys for a run one weekend though.

we like jeepers too. i own a boenyard special 77 cj-5. in fact im pulling the motor this weekend from one jeep to another. i bought a motor out of a recked jeep so my and my dad i n law are going to tow the one jeep with motor to the house pull it and place it, then drag the donor back to the junkyard.

All are invited!
