on my dads 98 explorer the heat never becomes cool when you turn the heat down. Its always hot. We've tried the potentiometer. The buffer box door works. Any suggestions?

yeah, just open the windows :D

I already replied to you PM, but in it you didn't mention that the blend door was working properly. If the blend door is working correctly, then I would pull the control module out of the dash and check to make sure the cable is still attached to the temperature control knob. It comes out easily. Remove the trim from around the radio first, disconnect the connectors to the various switches on the trim (4x4, fog, rear wiper). I think the A/C control module is held in with 4 more screws. It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to get to it to check it out.

isnt that a polymeter or some crap thing like it, i can't remember the name, but my dad remembers fixing the switch behind it, and plugging in all the wires
