Took Off Intake Plenum and Found This (PICS)

Update...

After I actually took the fuel manifold off, some injectors came off with it and some didn't, the one problem cylinder, well the injector to it had a pool of black liquid sitting in it on top when I lodged fuel manifold off from it because that injector didn't come off with fuel manifold. So on top of injector was a black pool of liquid when every other injector had no liquid in it at top.

I just bought o rings for injectors because of the grime on some of them and wouldn't trust putting them back in like that.

Is it ok to spray carb cleaner on injectors to clean the gunk on ends of it that got dragged through gunk from pulling out injectors to put new injector o rings on

?

That and just cleaned all the surfaces off with carb cleaner and terry cloth lint free one

I just bought these for valve covers, took them off today, what a pain even with most other stuff off. I'm almost regretting taking them off now because I have to finangle putting them back on.

The valves look fine for problem cylinder and same with all other valves.

This valve cover set does come with the plenum gasket and its not orings like other sets. I almost think this gasket will probably work better than the orings for plenum don't yous think?

I sprayed injectors with carb cleaner, on the outsides of them not in them. Cleaned all the valve covers and head from left over residue today. It's hard to due stuff in 20degree weather and when its not raining or snowing. I just have to put it all back together now. Should I use the plenum gasket that came with valve covers? I think it looks better than the single orings don't yous?

Installed passenger side valve cover today after taking off alternator for easier install and ac compressor for other side to install easier. Lost a couple valve cover bolts so couldn't get other side in have to buy more plus need another person to help hold ac compressor and other main thick electric wires out of way to install other valve cover. Hopefully within the next couple days but it's suppose to rain.

Still wondering what others think about installing the 1 piece plenum gasket instead of the 3 double orings gaskets for plenum
