I am finally looking into updating my X, looking at a few.

One that I have my eye on is a 2002 XLT (1fmzu73e02za18245)

Looks good, no codes, a bit higher milage than I like (280000km)

The only issue with it is a noisy clutch in the limited slip diff.

what do you guys/gals think?

Took the plunge, got a great price on the X.

Is the 2002 key chipped? as there is only one supplied.

It is and you can get another one programmed. I believe you can also use different Ford keys. I think Tylers02 used a Ford Fusion key, you can PM him to ask.

Ken -

Yes indeed, that key has a chip in it! I think they started that in 99 or 2000. Some of the better hardware stores can clone a chip-key, but be warned - it's about $75. But if you loose your only key, then it's off to Ford on a flatbead to get it going again.

That's a sharp looking '97 you have. Don't think I've seen one with 3rd gen wheels before.

I had to actually use 1" spaces in it to avoid hitting the upper control arms.

From my research right now, due to the fact I have only 1 key, I'm gonna need a ford dealership or locksmith to make a second before I can make more. That kinda sucks.

I won't need a second key FOB yet, since I'm thinking of a car starter anyhow, if not I can always steal the spare one from my F350.

The hardest thing to do is keep this 2002 stock, was thinking a small lift butdon't wanna let it go nuts like my '97
