torque converter staying locked up once i get into 4th or 5th. code (P0743). UPDATE

99 mountaineer 4.0l 4x4 w/5r55e 115k miles

Just installed a remanufatured and tested valve body with all updates, bonded gasket, blow off valve, etc. Took the truck for a ride and alll was good till it got to 4th gear and o/d. the torque converter will agressively lock up from 3rd into 4th and does same for 5th. Will not unlock either. I came to a stop and the truck stalled becuase of the engagement. Put her in park and restarted. The first try into drive, it was still in o/d and it just stalled. Second try, it went back to first. I have found that i can also get it out if its stuck gear by throwin the truck into second. Upon arrival back to my house, it threw a check engine light code of p0743 about 20 yards from my driveway.
my old valve body was not really that bad. It was throwing code of p0741 and had a little issue of early torque converter lockup going into 3rd but with a little more gas it would realease. never had the 4th or 5th gear issue. I did everything by the book and brought out instructions from this forum. Any thoughts? Possibly need new wiring for whatever reason?

Was the wire harness good in the pan? Insulation comes off and shorts the wires. Torque Converter was probably locked not OD. You said check engine code? OD light flashing is for a trans problem. P0743 is an TC electrical problem.

yeah, ive had the o/d light flashing before and that was a p0741. this time, a check engine light came on and i got p1000 and p0743.

The guy shipped me out another updated valve body and all is well. Turned out that the other was probably rebuilt on a friday lol

Hey there...I just had my '03 tranny rebuilt, everybody around here said it had to, but just put it back today....and it got the same failure...P0743 is the very first fail code..who did your valve body? I would like to try that before anything else. Thanks!
