Hi all...

I have a few questions for ya, i hope you can help.

I will be getting a replacement trany very soon. I am getting it directly from ford. It comes with a 3ys/30,000 mile warranty and only costs 100$ more than autozone. sounds good to me. but i need to get a new torque converter. I have no clue what size torque converter is in the 4ald (a4ld? i always get them confused) i want to get one with about 3000-3500 stall. I do some towing and the added torque would be nice. what do i need 10 inch ? 10 and 1/2 inch? 9 inch? if you guys have a part number or size i need i would greatly appreciate it.

thanks again!

check out www.protorque.com thats where i got mine from and it is great. a real nicely done converter with heavyduty lockup clutch. its a tad more than ford from what i remember...i think it was 300 or so...but i think its worth it. all you have to do is tell them what your putting it in and what your going to use it for and they will set a custom stall. they told me that they do alot of performance rangers so they know what works and deal w/ these tranny's all the time.

good luck

If you are going that tall in stall speed, put a HUGE cooler on it. You are gonna generate a lot of heat in that TC

adding another aftermarket cooler?

i had thought about that. can i just pick one up at autone or something? and tie it in after the factory? or would i be better off tapping into the lines before the factory cooler?
