I need some opinions here.
I now have my engine out and waiting for my new one to ship. Would it be wise to upgrade my torque converter at this point. I will end up with roughly 250hp by the time I'm finished with my engine and I want to protect my tranny. or maybe I'm wrong. Input please.

and which B & M would you recommend?

b7m makes trannys? what are you looking at? how are you getting 250 hp from a 93 xlt?

I figure 210-215hp rebuilt, bored .30 over (standard) with the heads ported, polished and shaved.
+10-15hp cat back flowmasters
+5hp K & N induction system
+20hp powerchip

I don't know, I just figured while I was there and had it all opened up. I get nervous with my transmission

I would try Pro Torque

Or you could try a local trans shop they will have a source for a local company that rebuilds converters with a lower stall and fully brazed fins - should be a little cheaper than Pro Torque.

B&M doesnt make a converter for the A4LD

will the A4ld hold up to slightly better than stock power?

yes, but if you are in the position of rebuilding the engine your trans may need some attention- parts wear .

BTW, if you havent added a cam your power gains will probably be under 200 hp. 40hp in bolt ons is a big gain.
