i have a 96 2wd ex and ive searched and found nothing on the torque specs for the front spindle nut. my chilton says some crazy number that has to be way to high. Anyone know what the number is??

edit: sorry i found it, can a moderator delete this post for me please.

Ford service manual says 212-228Nm (157-213lb/ft). (I copied it directly)

It must be off range in the lb/ft range, as 212Nm is ~157 lb/ft, but 228Nm is like 168 lb/ft.

Dunno which is actually correct. But I would guess 157-168lb/ft.

BTW, if you want the ford manuals, you can download them from fordcds.com
