TT end and gained 1"

I just did my TT and i only got 1" from it and the bolt is all the way in. Is this common. I only did 1 side so far, will it make a difference if i do the other side? I do not want to wreck the CV's. Any suggestiions?

Yeah just get longer bolts if you want to go higher, you shouldnt have any problem with your cv's with 1-2", I haven't ;)

So the bolt all the way in will not hurt it? How can i find out what letter grade my torsion bars are?

Nope one of my bolts is all the way in and the other still had a few more turns left in it, won't hurt a thing, as far as the torsion bars, it will say on one of the ends of the torsion bar what grade bar you have, could be d, b, l, etc. etc.

Now I have both bolts all the way in and on side is higher then the other. Is that normal? Should I just back out the other one to match the maximum on the other side? Is it a faulty torsion bar or just the way it is setup?

Yeah you should back it out depending on what kind of diff you have in height on each side, I had about a 1/2" diff from one side to the other and just backed one bolt out to even them up, nope not faulty just the way there set up ;)

Do 2wd X's have CV joints? Are you talking about the CV joints for the 4x4?

CV axles are only found on the 4x4's

Does adjusting the torsion bars to level the front end have any effect on the rear at all? My torsion adjustment bolts are adjusted to different lenghts from one side to the other to level it out and I have noticed that there is 3/4 of an inch differance in the height in the rear from one side to the other. Can I do anything to level this out any better or is this as good as it gets?

does nothing to the rear, most likely your rear is sagging on teh drivers side right? the gas tank sits on that side and causes it to sag....get yourself a set of 4door leaf packs and that should take care of the sagging, and if not throw an aal on there too.

Yes your right it is the left side that is low. I didn't know if adjusting the torsion bars may of had a teetering effect corner to corner on the back or not. What can I expect to pay for a set of 4D springs? And are the left and right spring interchangable to offset the sagging on the drivers side?

well i was wrong earlier, you can try to lower the passenger sde tbar to make it look more even, but i would still suggest getting a pair of 4dr leaves. as for price, i have no idea, i never bought any, i had them from the factory :D just go to a junkyard and see what they have

OK I tried to lower the right front. It had no effect on the rear at all and I now noticed the truck wants to pull to the right. I think I'll put it back where it was until I get the rear springs. P.S. Are the rear springs interchangable from side to side? And do steel springs sage as bad as the fiberglass one do?

yes you can chage them from side to side, and i have never heard of fiberglass springs, and the pulling you are feeling is becasue when you mess with the tbars the truck goes outta alinment, so you will need an alinment to keep your truck from wearing your tires funny

So let me get this right. To lower my explorer, I loosen the bolts to lower the front, and I can remove a leaf or whatever on the rear to lower the rear end? I'm wanting to lower my 96 XLT 2-3 inches or so.

Or go to autozone or EE and buy a lowering block kit for the back...autozone their like 24$ and at EE they are like 100$ cause they are "made" for explorers

on my 2004 explorer can i do a tortion twist and Warrior shackles on the back?

my car is getting detailed so i cant look under it but will all that stuff fit?
