ok a lil background info.

i totalled my ex the other day.
i ran off the road and tried to miss the speed limit sign in front of me and jerk the wheel back on the round and the rear end tried to come around. so here i am sliding side ways around a corner. i ran off the road and hit a pine tree then bounced off it into another pine.

Well the motor seems to be okay except radiator is pushed into to fan.
But i was wondering if it is possible to take my 4.0 sohc and put it into my 88 ranger gt that came with a 2.9 ohv?

also how hard would this be? or is it not possible?
sry for no pics my digital camera was my ex when i wrecked and i cant seem to find it

sry if this in the wrond place

i think if you buy 4.0 motor mounts that it should bolt up. PM 410fortune, i know he had a 4.0 in his BII he may be able to give a little bit more insight into this, or maybe he will chime in.

4.0L OHV in a BII....Fits no different than the 2.9L that was supposed to be there.

4.0L SOHC is a totally different animal. it is a bit wider.

If your BII was non-A/C, that would help a LITTLE, but not much.

Wiring would be the hard part.

Jamie loved the 4.0L OHV in his BII....I bet he would liked the SOHC even more....but NOTHING tops a SBF in a Ranger Based Vehicle!.
