Using what?

I agree that it doesn't look that strong in the picture (hard to tell), but I wouldn't want to pull too hard on that bumper ball either. The best way, for those with a tow receiver, is to get one of the heavy tow rings that mount in the receiver tube. Since it appears in the picture that you don't have a hitch, I'd look for a way to bolt that big ring to the frame with a heavy bracket. There are probably holes there already for mounting a hitch that you could use.

Or what I did was took the ball off my stinger and put that shackle through and put it back in the receiver
it worked for me the other day. IMO that point might work once but I wouldn't put it there. I didn't see the hitch though. I'm just sayin I would rather dig it out that put it there. Again just my opinion. Happy wheeling man.

Get a hitch or get a factory frame tow hook from a sport.
That's just asking to rip your bumper off.

Thanks for the replies. I am hoping to find a good deal around here on a hitch or sport tow hooks. Might have to hit up the local junk yards. Lots of explorers totaled here in iowa

I know u-haul will sell and install on an expo. Just won't rent you a trailer.

The way you have that, if you pull too hard it will twist your bumper upward.. I've done it twice on 2 explorers, haha. Best way indeed is to get a proper trailer hitch.
