My 08 XLT gives me a TPMS fault anytime I'm on the interstate and go over 70 mph. Otherwise, I never get a fault. If I set cruise control for around 68, no problem. But if I exceeed 70, after about 10 minutes I get the fault. Could I have a loose band? Or what else could be the issue. When if first happened, the place I bought if from said I had too much pressure in the tires, which were at 38. I'm now running 35 lbs each.

Thanks for any tips or suggestions.

Orange electric makes a stem style replacement for the bands. they run about 25 bucks each. Cheap way to check. If they were set at 38 with the learning tool, and you are running 35, this could also cause the false reading. Get a learning tool or take them in and get them re learned at 35 lbs.

Thank you! Where would I find a learning tool? And would the 38 now 35 issue cause it to only fault at 70+ mph?

Its usually the other way, usually a failure will go away as the tire warms and the air inside expands. Odds are its a bad sensor. You can find programmers on amazon or ebay for around 20 bucks. Check the dealership too, I got mine for cheap at our local shop as it was an order for someone else that was never picked up.

Thanks again Tech By Trade. Is there a trick to figuring out which sensor is bad?
