I see the Check ADVTRAC message on my message center. The traction control light is constantly on and my 4x4 HIGH and 4x4 LOW lights flash periodically (they flash 3 times then go away for a few minutes, then repeat). My 4WD does not function.
I have an 02, V8.
I also have a bad wheel bearing on the Left Rear wheel. It's being fixed on Friday. The Traction control has been non-operational (and as described above) for several months but the wheel bearing has just recently gone bad (few weeks) and I discovered it because the wheel "wobbles" and noticed when getting new tires. I can hear a faint wheel bearing "groaning" noise.
Any suggestions? The mechanic believes that just the bearing needs to be replaced vs the entire hub assembly but I'm not sure about this. I don't want to replace just the bearing to find that I needed to replace the whole hub assembly instead. Or would I possibly need to do both? I'm sort of assuming that these two issues are likely related.
