tranny again!!!

my tranny is the ****. it wont shift when i get about 80 km/h. it holds for a few seconds the it goes. on the way down it always gives a clunk sound. is this a common problem.
i have a 98 x sport 2 door

Lots of threads about bad trannys, especially the older A4LD's. Your 5R55E should be OK. Have you checked the fluid level and color?? When was the last time it was flushed/filter changed? A bad TPS has been know to cause a problem similar to the one you describe. Try searching for "hard shifting" or "tranny clunk" and you should find lots of threads with good info.
