tranny code - driver side door sticker

on the driver side door sticker, im assuming the column labled, "TR" stands for transmission? and mines is listed as "D." anyone know anything about this? am i looking at the correct column?

I would say that is for the transmission. Mine has the same thing. Anyway your transmission is a 5R55E, 5-speed automatic. Up until recently, it was the only transmission available with the SOHC.
 






TR is your front Torsion Bar hardness.

You have "D" torsion bars.
 






hrmm, if thats for the torsion bars, then what is the abbreviation for the transmission?
 






It should have a number after it....like D3. The number, I've been told by certain Ford people, is the tranny code.

TR is for your transmission, SPR is for your springs (first letter is your torsion bars, second letter is your spring)
