I'm going to be putting in a mechanical tranny temp gauge. I'd like to tie it into the line running from the tranny to the cooler right as it leaves the tranny. Does anybody know what size that fitting is? It looks like a 3/8 but I didn't want to take anything apart until I know for sure.

Does anybody see a problem installing it there with just a T fitting?

I replaced my factory 96 4R70W lines with steel brake lines (pepboys, napa $5) IIRC they were 5/16 pipe with 3/8 inch threaded fittings going into the tranny.

I put the temp sender before the cooler and now inline after the cooler. When It was before the cooler the gauge needle moved a lot. Now it doesn't move much due to the cooler working so well :) I still want to drop the pan and install the temp sender there. The only way to get a "true temp reading".

Ok, thanks. The fitting sure looks like a 3/8 so that must be right.
