Gentlemen
I have reviewed multiple posts and process recommendations but they seem to get confusing on what TO DO and what NOT TO DO!

Can someone please send me or respond to this post on how to flush the SEALED - 5R55W TRANNY ONLY! A cut and paste whatever.

I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT EVEN THE "STICKY" SEEMS TO GIVE DIFFERENT VERSIONS.
Thank you for any help here, new to site.

The easiest way is to take it to a shop who will hook up a machine and you'll be good to go. Cost like 80 bucks maybe?

As tranny seems to be weak link and prefer synthetic I would like to do this myself. I will take it in but would prefer to do it myself.

Anybody?

The problem you face in the 55W without a dipstick and filler tube is that while you can disconnect a line at the cooler and have the pump pump the old fluid out, the return line has no suction. In other words you need a machine to force fresh fluid back in. DMB's advice ain't off base here. You may have to negotiate a shop to give you some rebate for bringing in your own synthetic for them to use.

Your alternative is to devise some way to force fresh fluid in at a pretty good clip.

I've done both, myself and shop w/my fluid

AirBlue,

I used a sprayer pump I had here on the farm. 3 GPM, set pressure at 10 PSI.
It kept up real well with the tranny pumpin it out. I used two 2.5 gal. plastic watering buckets. As I say, worked real well. The best thing you can do is buy the little tool from FOrd to split the garter spring connector on the cooler line. A regular garter spring tool won't work. The flare in the line is too close to the fitting to get anything else to work. Spend the $8.00 and buy the little plastic tool, will save you hours of aggravation.:D

The last time I was at home and needed to get the tranny flushed, I called up the stealership and asked if they would run their cleaner through, and then flush with my fluid (amsoil syn.). They sure, no problem. I think they charged me $90.00. It's regular $139.00 with the Ford fluid.
The only reason I did that was it was rainy, cold, and laying on the driveway did not seem like a thing I wanted to do;)
