Tranny Flush

well if you have a third gen then i wouldn't recommend it at all and have to agree 100% with you.

But, with mine, i always have a second person helping me and i never run into the transmission pump running dry. but, i understand the worry and agree it would not be healthy for the transmission to run it dry. Even having a machine change the fluid for you it will always miss some, there is no 100% guarantee that you will get all of it, but the machine will be more accurate.

But, i don't trust many with my tranny and people from Jiffy Lube and local Ford dealership are idiots in my opinion and there are only a few good mechanics that know what their doing and its sad that they poor ones set the imagery for the consumers.

I will stick with the 1000 people here that recommend it, thanks for the explanation though, i learned something new today.

Yeah we did my brothers 2 years ago (91 ex A4LD) with the flush in a bucket method and even ran it dry for around 10 secomds before I could jump in and cut turn it off. 45000 miles later, runs great. Used Royal Purple ATF.
