2002 ranger
Hey guys - Need a little help here.
I have a 2002 Ranger, 3 ltr V6 (Flex), 4X2, 5 spd auto with 131,000 miles on it. Here very recently, it has started a hiccup. If you are driving around town, you never see it.
If you are on the interestate/hiway and hit a hill or have to accellerate is when I have the problem. It will run around 2600 rpms ok, if you downshift to 4th (Od) - at around 32-3500rpms it starts to hiccup and will not stop until you stop accellerating and drop it below 3200. I thot it was an engine issue at first cuz the RPMs would drop during the "spasm". Makes it a bit rough to hit the interstate in the mts.
I really love this truck and would like to have it fixed, if I can, within reason.
Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks!!!

I had the same issue a couple months back and thought I was going to have some tranny issues coming up soon too. However, I ended up changing my plugs and wires about a month ago just as a tune up and the issue went away. Don't know if that might help or not.

Hmmmmm

Did the plugs last weekend, but I did NOT do wires - will have to try that
