So a question for all... how long has your explorer tranny lasted you with regular maintainence? And I'm talking about just fluid and filter changes... no mods, no rebuilds. I'm especially interested in those of you with the 5R55E, but I'm welcome to anyone. I have 101K on mine and it still shifts awesome without ever abusing it... much

On my '96 it went 118k, and started to make threats so I asked a trans shop and he said they normally go 110-120k miles (so traded it in).

I have 1997 5.0L AWD. I'm at 223,000 with the original motor and transmission. It's still going strong with no problems. I've done regular filter and fluid maintenance for both the motor and transmission using Amsoil products.
