just bought a 94 explorer with 140k miles and a new auto tranny in it.....when I am going up steep hillls the thing like goes out of gear and the motor will just rev like it is in neutral. I really don't understand automatic trannys but do you guys have any input on what may be causing this or any possible solutions?

checked tranny fluid and it is full and not dirty I really don't know what else to do...

I was worried that the clutch packs in the tranny might be burned out or something...this is my first explorer how would you go about adjusting the kickdown cable? It only does it on steep hills too.....

The cable has an adjusting button right at the base where the cable meets the firewall underneath the hood. Press this button, and pull up on the cable to take away the slack. Go inside of the vehicle, and step all of the way down on the accelerator pedal. You will hear a clicking noise. It will be adjusted when you hear this sound.
