Every morning when I first start my Explorer and pull out of garage my X will hardly move when I step on the gas. I've notice if I let it warm up longer it seems to respond a alot better. The auto tranny was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago. Any thoughts?

it has nothing to do with the trans. actualyl what is happening is that the ECU uses a different throttle map when the car is just started. its the throttle by wire programming.

The 2004 has the throttle by wire set up. He has the 1995 version. I suspect that it might have bad valve body gaskets, and loose valve body bolts. I know that it was only rebuilt 20k miles ago, but if the bolts weren't tightened to the proper specifications at the time of the rebuild, they might have come loose. The gaskets expand a little when they warm up making a tighter bond to reduce hydraulic pressure loss. The EPC, and TCC solenoids resonate which contribute to loosening the bolts.

Cold Tranny

Anyone else have thoughts? When I started my X this morning it would hardley move for about 15 seconds then it was fine. Also it took about a mile to shift into overdrive.
