Have on '02 explorer, 4-door XLS V6. Lotsa maintained miles, great driver.
have a new issue that's come up when towing heavy loads. Once up to speed, the tranny always wants to shift to a very tall gear and keep the rpm's at ~1,000 to 1,600. Basically it will shift to the tallest gear.
Overdrive is always off when towing.
Oddly, it doesn't seem to be an issue when towing lighter loads as much.
What gives?
