tranny shifting very hard going into 2nd

my tranny shifts hard when going into 2nd. when i come from a stop with little gas i will shift into 2nd around 2k but when it shifts its like im at wot and it shifted at 6k. it puts out a big jerk. and it does not do it that bad in any other gear. when it shifts into OD around 55 you can feel it but its nothing like going into 2nd. it really is bad it jerks every bone in my body. it feels like a wot shift. btw. its in a 98 eb. does this sound like the tranny is on its way out. also fluids are good



any advice on what to check

check your tranny fluid first. sounds like its locking up... might wanna replace fluid thats inside it, clean all the metal out of the fluids.
