I am long time reader 1st time poster....
have 92 4x4, and the tranny was rebuilt over a year ago. problem is when I take off, I have to left off gas to get it to shift into 2nd.. I do not need to for other gears, it then kicks in and goes, I also have the rev's shoot up as I accelerate.then it will shift....now it seams to be sluggish and feels like a vacumn type surge at times...when i am going 70 and gas it, it takes off fine...
need some help on this as the shop wants 600 bucks to take apart to trouble shoot....

Hey,

my best friend just bought a 94' EB 4.0 4X4. he discovered that first thing in the morning it doesn't like to shift out of 2nd gear until almost 4000rpms. took it to a tranny shop and the guy said it sounds like sticking valves. not sure what that means or any type of costs but you might check into that. my friend is getting the dealer to pay for his, which they should considering he bought it just the day before. HTH

later,
bigmac

Thanks,,,I have heard about that, does anyone know in a flush and maint.change of filter etc,,would work..? and also what is the little disc looking things that are in the area when you change the filter? when I changed the filter and just the pan fluid last time, one of these was in the pan where the others appeared in slots on the tranny...
