Trans-go shift kit

Airpwr73, Good find!

Those look like good step-by-step instructions, with pictures even.
I hope the AOD install is compatable with the A4LD kit.
Sorry to say, your kit (which is on it's way), does not include the instructional video or a sticker.
If this does turn out to be compatible install instructions for the A4LD kit, it would be great to add that link to the how-to reference sections on the boards.

Did anyone install this kit yet? I am looking into getting one and wondered what kinda improvements it made.

whats the difference between the "superior" and the "transgo" kits besides the price?

i know the superior site has a pic of whats included... does the transgo have more or less things?

DID EVERYONE MISS IT?

"go off road " pointed out something interesting about the new 2002 Explorers.

While I don't know if it's a first, it's the first Explorer transmission designed to be 'maintenance free' up to 150,000 miles.

I wonder if it will fair better than 'maintenance free' batteries.

As far as the older style trannies go, shop around they can be rebuilt and you can get good service out of them. I've posted on this topic before - a lot of shops will point to the transmission as crap to get your expectations down. If they start that crap go to another shop!

Over and out.

Mike,

If I remember correctly the superior kit has the upgraded direct drum springs and the TG kit doesnt. I believe they both have the same or similar Valve Body springs. The Trans Go kit has the improved center support seal(standard now with the rebuild kits I understand) so I would say if you just want to do VB work the Trans Go is the one to use, If you have the trans apart and have access to the drum then use the superior kit. The drum springs can be added later during a rebuild if needed.

Good Luck

I can't tell ya enough....IMHO - Baumann is the way to go. ALL they do is Ford auto transmissions.

I put thier kit into my AOD-E/4R70W. Took the better part of a Saturday. One of the best mods iv'e done.

but what do they offer for the A4LD??

Anyone have the instruction sheet to the A4LD Jr kit

Im still looking for the instructions to the Transgo A4LD kit. Thought I bring this up see if anyone has a copy of the instructions I can have or get copies of. I bought a superior kit and want to compare the two.

Thanks
