hi, new here, can someone tell me if a 1990-91 ranger 5sp 4x4 trans, v6 will bolt up to my 94 ranger 4x4 4.0 any help? thanks eddie ranger94

Which V6? I'm not certain exactly which V6's were available in 90-91, but:

if the donor is also a 4.0 -- Yes it should bolt up
if the donor is a 2.9 -- I'm pretty sure it should bolt up. There might be some clutch issues to work out. Also, it seems like the FM146 was still coming out in '90 behind the 2.9. While I believe the FM146 and M5OD are readily interchangeable, the FM146 isn't generally considered to be as strong as the M5OD.
if the donor is a 3.0 -- Almost certainly will not bolt up. The 3.0 and the 4.0 use different bellhousing bolt patterns.

Not a simple yes/no answer, but it should allow you to look closer at the donor truck and decide.
