I recently had the trans rebuilt and shortly after getting it back I started noticing a problem. I am not sure if it is the trans or something else. When going 40ish if I hit the gas hard nothing happens for about 3 seconds. To me it almost feels like the car is going to stall or that the trans is trying to downshift but can't. This only happens at 40+- a few. So what do you guys think trans or something else?

Sounds like a transmission from here, but you would likely get more relevant (and possibly timely) help in the section thqt matches your '98 Ex. Be sure to include the engine/transmission/drive (All, 4wd, 2wd).

Guess I should have mentioned it is one of my other cars. It is an 03 Mountaineer V8 AWD. My thought is trans also I was just hoping it wasn't.

my wife's 04 has never shifted correctly from day 1. the 5r55s for the AWD has had electrical solenoid, valve body, & ECm control issues from day 1.

Ours has had (4) solenoids, (2) valve bodies, & reflashed everytime its been in for tranny service.

The shift/hesitation issue sounds to me like the torque converter may not have the umph left in it to match up with the fresh trans.

If the converter is the original & all else is new. I would be looking there.

I am about to have ours gone through completely this year. I am considering a slight change in converter specs & an aftermarket programmer to give me more control.
