ok ive got a 92 explorer with 125k on it with the a4ld trans in it. my problem is that everyonce in a while when i come to a stop the tranny sputters and may kick, doesnt happen alot but it happens sometimes, what could be the problem. SHould i maybe get the tranny flushed somewhere and get some synthetic oil in it? what should i do? i dont want my tranny to go to ****, especially since i would have an amount close enough to get it rebuilt. thanks

If it has been a while since your last flush, definately do it. with that many miles on your A4LD, a yearly flush should be a must.

get it flushed somewhere like ez lube or change the oil my self, is that the same? do they do the same thing?

You can do it yourself, but it is messy, but you can change the filter at least. Most places wont change the filter. I go to JiffyLube. They have a machine that pumps it all out through the torque converter. 100% change (Recommended) they may even change the filter for you too for some extra $$. It costs about $70 for a complete flush with a coupon or something. Otherwise they could charge around $100.00 or something close to that.
