trans problems

I have a 2004 Ford Explorer and the O/D light started flashing yesterday and then the check engine light came on soon after We took it to the auto part store and the code that came back was P0790... The gentleman at the store didn't know what it meant. It is shifting fine until it comes to the higher O/D gears. What should we do?

hi names chris , i just had the same problem with the 2001 ford ranger edge, i had to get a total trans rebuild, found the bands in trans burnt and orings bad and blew out a hole in the gasket.hope tht helps
