hmmm... slow 2nd engagement...the obvious choice is a sticky governor....or a sticky valve spool in the 1-2 shift circuit... both fixable w/o removing the tranny.

Why didn't you take it back when it first started slipping? After 10k of slipping, I'm sure your due for a fluid change.

you think a fluid change will stop it. or will it make things worse. i change my fluid when i first got the truck and that was at 95k and at 100k the trans craped out. will me changing the fulid and filter mess any thing up. i dident take it back to the shop because in 3 weeks i went through 6 transmistion. the were all junk till i got this one.

After 6 trannies I'd be getting in touch with the better business bureau. Why did you change the fluid at 95K? Was it to try and fix the problem? A fluid change won't likely fix anything. But 10k worth of slipping will burn up the fluid.

yes six trannies but i know the owner of the garage and i dident feel like doing the work my self. i only paid for the trans once they were all rebuilt till the one i have now and that one came froma nother source. i change the fluid at 95k because it was no longer red and was shifting really hard. i knew i needed a new trans but i figured that it might get a little more life out of it.

i just checked my fluid and it still looks like it did when i put it in its not brown and dosent smell burnt. the damn thing is just slipping. could it be the cluches that are going. i have a nother trans to put in i just need a few more parts like a cluth pedal. switching to a 5 speed when the auto goes
