My auto trans seems to be working fine the problem is when I tow it shifts ok, the problem is it pushes tranny fluid out from somewhere from the front of the tranny.
This only happens when towing. I cleaned the underneath of my truck with gunk and watched for trans fluid. Nothing then I towed 4000 Lbs, and the undercarriage was wet again seems to dump a half qt. of fluid each time I tow.

Any Ideas whats causing this and where the fluid is coming from ?

Just a thought - is the transmission fluid being expelled through the vent opening? I saw a similiar incident in an Isuzu Rodeo. There was a factory problem with the trans, causing the clutch packs to slip. The owner was not as careful about noticing fluid loss, so every time the trans got into the bad clutch pack gear it heated up. When heat builds, the fluid has to go somewhere and in this instance out the vent hole and onto the right (? it was awhile ago) framerail. Being relatively new vehicle, this individual did not think to check for such a thing. Unfortunately Isuzu, the more fluid that was expelled, the more the clutch packs slipped, heating the transmission even more...Since your description seems to indicate the problem is when towing (i.e. heavier loads), it won't cost you anything to see if there is a vent opening and hopefully will help keep you're tranny together. Of course, I may be out in left field on this one also...
