ok so i installed 31 10.50's on my truck, havent used the 4x4 since, well the other day got in a rough spot at the pond and engaged 4 auto and it would pop then stop pulling start pulling agian then pop and stop pulling, so i put it in neutral engaged 4 low, same thing, so pretty much every time it makes its loud sound under the truck it stops pulling for a sec then you hit the gas a little it graps agian, with that being said what else should i look at before i straight rule it a slipping chain in the t case? i would hate to rebuild it then i still have the same problem lol. cv axles look good no ripped boots or anything, now ive worked on race car for years but i dont know jack crap about 4x4 systems so im slowing learning the diagnostics, could it be a bad auto hub? or how does the front axles get locked in? see use to when i hit 4 low it made a load clunk when it engaged now it doesnt make that noise 98% of the time. only time i ever use 4x4 is when im at the pond or state forest and i get stuck it dead sand or mud but its never nothing bad just enough to where you need a little help from the front tires to pull out.

UPDATE 4x4 ISSUES WITH MY FINDING!

ok heres an update maybe it can help out, i just did all the run down, Jacked up the front engage 4x4 low both tires spin, i get some play in my drive shaft maybe a quarter of a turn, then it stops, i jacked all 4 tires off the ground engaged 4x4 it is spinning all 4 tires, i even get my "clunk" when engaging 4 low, with it on the ground i do not get this loud clunk even tho i do get 4x4, now with it jacked all the way off the ground the brakes did not want to stop the front tires from spinning lol, now i have noticed i have a "tight" spot on my passenger tire you can spin it 50% to 75% around then its like it gets in a bind and is hard to spin the rest of the way over then it moves free agian, what could cause this other than a brake, caliber, disc issue? can the "hub assembly" cause this? im trying to trace down if i should pull the transfer case or not any ideas?

also when its it 4x4 low in the air with the trans in gear tires spinning i can grap my front tires and stop them i shouldnt be able to do that should I?

now the 4x4 works fine im lost, maybe the eletric shift motor isnt given me full lock up? im totally lost!
