I have searched but can't find the right info on when to change transfer case fluid. My problem is it makes a clicking noise when i turn left slowly and when i shift into 4 Low, and go idle speed, its accompanied by a loud thud.
What i need to find out is when is the transfer case fluid supposed to be changed? I read somewhere that first fluid change is 150k miles. The reason i need to know this is because I purchased an "auto 4 life" warranty thru Koons out here in Va. Their stipulation is that I have to follow the maintenance schedule. I don't have a copy of the maintenance schedule so I dont know when what fluids are supposed to be changed at what interval. Could someone point me in the right direction to the recommended maint. schedule please. Oh yeah, I have an 02 explorer limited and has 99,330 miles on it and rear differential is a D4 or something like that if it helps. thanks
