The t-case takes regular Merc Dextron III - why put a more expensive fluid in there if it doesn't need it?

Unless you plan on going to synthetic, for wear and gas mileage purposes. I did put synthetic in my transfer case and it seems to work well so far, only cost a little more than mercon V.

Will mobil 1 ATF work for the Transfer Case?

Make sure it is at least Merc 3 compatable, I am pretty sure it works. I used redline ATF in mine, and it said it was compatable on the container.
