Hello all, long time no see for a few of you, I used to be MONOCHROMOUS, im sure only a few remember (bobsride.com)
Anyway, my explorer has been doing pretty bad, my brother drove it through some water and since then the carpet has rotted up and we had to replace the wiring harness and computer. And this thing is just a lease...
So i got it stuck on the beach last night, and put it into neutral, shifted into 4 low, waited a second for it to engage, shifted it back into drive, hit the gas, and POP, now it doesnt move.
It will still cycle through 2wd, 4hi, 4lo, wont move in any, forward or reverse. Park will hold, neutral will let it roll, we had to pull it all the way home.
Now my best guess is the transfer case, and im not sure if this case has the chain like my bronco, but my best case scenario is the chain broke and didnt damage anything, i should be able to replace it.
It could be the transmission too, since when i rev it in gear, it comes down slow like it has a load on it.
Who knows, hopefully someone here does!!
